Christmas Eve and Day

Christmas Eve: Menu...
Ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, pretzel/jello salad, peas and slush.
New pj's to sleep in while awaiting Santa's arrival.
Christmas morning...coming to see what Santa brought.
Ike wasn't happy with his stocking!

Other than stockings my kids only got one gift this year. One gift that they had to share.
A Wii. (And it was a huge hit.)

Merry Christmas From the Powells!!

Merry Christmas from the Powell Gang. I know this is a lame way to send a Christmas card but that's all I could muster up this year! We hope you are all doing well and enjoying this wonderful season.
We have had such a great year. Here is a little recap...

January- We remodeled our kitchen and visited family in South Carolina.
February- We had a huge ice storm and school was cancelled for what felt like half of the month.
March- We welcomed our first pet to the family...Jeffery, a goldfish. (He only lasted a month)
April- Josh was baptized and Nancy ran her first 1/2 marathon.
May- We did nothing!
June- The Lindhorsts came to visit up from Washington State. We met them in Nashville and had a great time down there. Wade also finished the tree house.

July- Family, Heather and Rob, came to visit from Utah. We had a great time, went on a lot of local tours. After they left the Fosters came to visit from Houston. We rented a 15 passenger van and went on a whirlwind trip to Kirtland Ohio, Palmyra Ny, Niagara Falls, and some Amish country. The funnest time ever!!

August- Madi turns 12 and can now legally babysit for me! Hip-hip hurray!
September- Madi goes on her first temple trip.
October- Wade and I got a sitter and traveled to St. George where he ran another marathon ...under 3 hours!! What a stud!
Halloween weekend I ran another 1/2 marathon with my running group. I injured my hip and still can't run. Dang-it. Hopefully soon.
November- Thanksgiving with Wades brothers. Cameron came from South Carolina and Logan from Indiana. The kids had so much fun with the cousins.
December- has been busy with holiday prep. We will be celebrating on our own this year.
We love you all and wish you a very Merry Christmas. I hope you're all planning a visit to beautiful Kentucky this year.

Veterans Park Elementary Winter Concert

Who doesn't love a good winter program. This one had it all...Singing, dancing, lights and even a fog machine. Josh is in the chorus and had a blast.
Josh is sitting on the floor at the very tip top of the gray carpet.

Well done Josh, it was awesome!!

Joshua's Mad Skills

Look at my boys mad skills! We've discovered he has a love and gift for art. We just had him audition for a local magnet school that has a wonderful art program. We'll find out if he gets accepted in February. Either way it will be fine with us. It is just so wonderful to see your child find something that they love and can feel good about. Way to go Josh! (Special thanks to an amazing art teacher...Adam! You rock!)

Rockin' Relief Society

We just had our R.S. Christmas party. What a hoot! I absolutely LOVE my ward. It has the funnest bunch of sisters in it. I simply adore them all.

My Holiday Decor.

I had a friend come over and decorate my trees this year. She has serious skills! They never would have looked this cute if I did them. Thanks!
